Celebration of the lizard

Lions in the streets and roaming
dogs in heat
rabid
foaming
a beast caged in the heart of the city

The body of his mother rotting on the summer ground
he fled the town
he went down south and crossed the border
left the chaos and disorder
back there over his shoulder

One morning he awoke in a green hotel
with a strange creature groaning beside him
sweat oozed from its shiney skin
is everybody in?
the ceremony is about to begin
wake up!
you can't remember where it was
had this dream stopped?
the snake was pale gold, glazed and shrunken
we were afraid to touch it
the sheets were hot dead prisons
and she was beside me
old
she's now
young
her dark red hair
her white soft skin
now run to the mirror in the bathroom look
she's coming in here
I can't live through each slow century of her moving

I let my cheek slide down
The cool smooth tile
Feel the good cold stinging blood
The smooth hissing snakes of rain

-Jim Morrison
Five to one
One in five
No one here gets out alive
You get yours baby
I'll get mine
Gonna make baby if we try...

    What are you doing here?
    What do you want?
    Is it music?
    We can play music.
    But you want more.
You want something & someone new.
    Am I right?
    Of course I am.
    You want ecstasy
    Desire & dreams.
Things not exactly what they seem.
I lead you this way, he pulls that way.
I'm not singing to an imaginary girl.
I'm talking to you, my self.
    Let's recreate the world.
The palace of conception is burning.

    Look. See it burn.
Bask in the warm hot coals.

You're too young to be old
You don't need to be told
You want to see things as they are.
You know exactly what I do
    Everything

    --Jim Morrison
    You ask me to enter
But then You make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
    To what You got
When all You've got is hurt
    ----
    Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame

    The severed garden

    Wow, I'm sick of doubt
    Live in light of certain
    South
    Cruel bindings
    The servants have the power
    dog-men & their mean women
    pulling blankets over
    our sailors
    I'm sick of dour faces
Staring at me from the T.V.
    Tower, I want roses in
    my garden bower; dig?
    Royal babies, rubies
    must now replace aborted
    Strangers in the mud
    These mutants, blood-meal
    for the plant that's plowed
They are waiting to take us into
    the severed garden
Do you know how pale & wanton thrillful comes death on a strange hour
    unannounced, unplanned for
    like a scaring over-friendly guest you've
    brought to bed
Death makes angels of us all
    & gives us wings
    where we had shoulders
    smooth as raven's
    claws
No more money, no more fancy dress
This other Kingdom seems by far the best
until its other jaws reveal incest
& loose obedience to a vegetable law
    I will not go
    Prefer a Feast of Friends
    To the Giant Family
I can't be free with what's locked inside of me...
