The Door

The door was made of fire;
created by inspiration
within a woman's words
and suspended
by curiosity.

The door was a reference of exits
layers of red and orange
sharp as glass and odorless
surrounded by a stagnant wall,
comfortable and cool.
Any words parallel
to the wall erased
by a constant wash of sand.

Beyond her others trekked through the door
and kept their eyes closed
ready for exits,
but not willing to see
the burning around them.

    I like it... you could make a novel out of this poem...
