Dan Brown leaves a lot to be desired
Dan Brown leaves a lot to be despised
I don't want to contribute to a book club reading on fukkin Dan Brown.....what a moron.....but I realise this might reach greater heights yet....so count me in for future book club recommendations.....all being well....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......0 -

Intelligent discussion, regarding whether or not a popular/populist author deserves consideration as a "literary" writer, would interest me.0

I could do with some intelligent discussion on any subject....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......0 -

I don't come around this way much. In fact, this is perhaps my first foray into the Poetry, Prose, Music & Art waters.
However, if you've got a good book discussion going on and I've read the work in question, I'd like a small spot in the corner, please.
I haven't read the Da Vinci Code. There's something about mainstream popular books that turn me off. Perhaps because they stink.
I tried reading some of those "blockbusters" (John Grisham, Michael Crichton, etc) and found more interesting info regarding the typeface than the story itself. Getting a tooth pulled out is less tortuous than reading one of those authors.0 -
okay, it's the 26th - you wanted a bump.........they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......0

First Question:
1. As a symbologist, Robert Langdon has a wealth of academic knowledge that helps him view the world in a unique way. Now that you've read The Da Vinci Code, are there any aspects of life/history/faith that you are seeing in a different light?
Bibliobella - In different mass market media (books, movies) I have seen hints of a relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene or that Jesus' blood line still survives. I had never even viewed Jesus in that way. I can't say my belief system has been totally changed, but I can be open to the possibility that it could have happened.
What is your answer to the first question?
On a side note - considering the upgrades happening today, this discussion may need to be tabled until tomorrow. We can do the best we can, though. There is no such thing as leftover pizza. There is now pizza and later pizza. - anonymous
