A march is a river of disturbed
black lines on white asphalt.
It is pointed toes walking west to east,
faster through cemented thoughts,
then skidding to a halt with bullets.

She hears he's handed his new best friend
to assemble, disassemble, polish, and shine.
His teddy bear loves a good fight,
clean shaven and piercing
it's created where it will return.

Her thoughts in formation
like wooden soldiers.
She prints a picture
that could be false, could be true.
Her weapon's river
dries faster than blood.
She's wise enough to know
there's more heart than hers.

I apologize if I posted this previously. I thought I already had, but I can't find it.
