    Regarding copyright: Thanks to wilfmiss
Each contributor will have a copyright in their own material as soon as it is created and put into "fixed form," i.e., written down, photograph applied to paper, etc. The author/creator can mail himself or herself a copy of the document to create evidence of the date of creation. DO NOT OPEN THE MAIL WHEN IT IS RETURNED TO YOU. This will help protect the author's individual work. - Recommended.

Also, please include permission in your submission email that your work can be
included in Trading Stories with the Leaves #1 and subsequent issues.

    Number of Submissions
You can submit as many items as you want, but for fairness sake, only one item will appear from any poster in each issue. If only 2 people submit recipes, but 30 people submit concert reviews, and one of the recipe people is also a concert review person, then that person’s recipe would be included, and not the concert review.

    Name
Please emphasize how you want your name to appear. For instance, just write, “I want my name to appear as . . .” and fill in the blank.

    Theme
No Code is the theme. When you submit your work, please include a sentence, “This relates to No Code because . . . “and fill in the blank. If your work doesn’t directly relate to No Code, be creative, and make something up. Now, as the gatekeeper, I may be slacking in the No Code relationship department, but I love word count tools. If you submit work, and it’s more than the maximum number of words, I will ask you to edit it.

Thank you for your interest, and patience!

I'll let this first issue pass, in terms of contributions, because I have too much to say, at the quietest of times.

But wow, this could be a great, representative magazine for the PJ fans as a collective. :)

I hope, and know, it'll work brilliantly, Ms Haiku et al! :)

Sorry, I didn't respond earlier. You send an email to tradingstories1@yahoo.com and attach the completed work. Please include in the subject line the appropriate song title as outlined above. Also, please make sure you verify the name as you want it, give me permission to use your work, and just a little note on what the submission has to do with No Code. As I noted earlier, if it doesn't relate, just make something up :)

Thanks, Fins, for your words of confidence!

I don't know if I want it as a sticky. When I saw your message moreandmore my shyness just kicked in full force. It's like I don't want my tag on a sticky for some reason. . .all that exposure beyond what I've already done. However, you have a point. Let me think it over, and email the mods for direction.

You know, I personally think a sticky is surplus to requirements. Do what I did when I used to make fanzines: make the most of your own resources, for the first couple of issues. A lot of local newspapers are written by the same one or two people; it's all done in-house. People will only contribute to something out of ego, if they see something in circulation as a way of showing off their self-perceived talents. Really, Ms Haiku: you, VictoryGin, Dunkie and one or two others just produce something, to a deadline, and don't worry about the quality. You only have to worry about editing when you've a wealth of submissions to deal with.

If and when the thing takes off, then you will acquire a profile. Just get the first issue of this thing out there, for better or worse!
  • I'm sure it will turn out fantastic, good luck to you guys

I hope the explanation of why/how the submission relates to No Code does not go to final word count... :o

    does it?

Does it have to be brilliant?
If you feel it's good enough to share, is that enough? :o

    Poems/Prose

I assume they have to be in english, right?
That would make sense since most readers will understand, if not all
But I feel like asking stupid questions today, so bear with me
    :D

Oh and by the way, I think this is a fantastic idea

dont worry too much about word count as i can squish text using a professional font-squisher

its all about sharing the experience, its doesnt have to be written by Shakespeare or anything... :)

I like this idea. How often will it come out and in the future how long will we have between knowing the theme and having to submit the work?

We're trying for quarterly. Once the proposal is posted on the different forums, the viewers have a month to submit something. With the first issue, viewers had about 6 weeks as it was during the holiday season.
