July Showers

I sat there, unmoving.
The rain fell as clear jewels
onto my legs and feet.
At first slow, and without sound
and then quick,
with feeling.
I watched the drops of ice
spread into pools of cool
dreams.
I pondered it all then.
You, me, the baby.
I sat there, motionless.
Like a stone angel in the rain.
I never felt so alone
yet somehow so surrounded.
The rain was like a blanket
easing over my soul.
I let in envelop my entire body,
soon oblivious to the chill.
The chill of circumstance seemed
so much more intense
as I realized my loneliness.
I have lived so long...for you
that it had not even dawned on me...
I am over you.
You are storm clouds and lightning
and all that is frightning.
But the baby is the rainbow.
She is what matters now.
So after a long pause in the middle
of an evening,
I woke up.
I stood up.
I dried myself off.
And I went inside.
Perhaps you stopped by...
but I could not hear you
over the driving rain.
Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?

WOW!!...thats really all I can say...

You are definately one of the best poets I have read on this site... Your words seem to hold such meaning and power.
Only with our eyes closed can we truly see

I especially like the lines above...I know, almost the entire poem, but I really think those first three lines above with the "circumstance, intense, lonliness" are what set it off. I Love the "over the driving rain" as well....very cool.
I hope you have all of your old writings saved somewhere. I'd buy a book of your stuff without a second thought. :)
All of your writings are true...and that says a lot about you...

    so sure and true ..

thank you for this poem :)
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
