Allergy Season

It’d be so nice if when you were bored
You’d look at me instead of the window
Just for a second, to see if I’m doing OK
Or let me tell you something you don’t know
About the answer to a question
That I’ve heard you mention
Sometime in the past
When I’ve wondered
If we can have something to make last
Even with all these allergies
You’ve never heard me sneeze
Or say “may I have a tissue please”
And now it’s been carved in the stone
That we’ll do this together as friends
Where I’ll go and where you’ll stay
I don’t really know, guess it depends
On if I can watch another night go by
Where I find it too scary to ask why
I can’t find the goods to be enough for you
Because I know the answer to be true
Even with all these allergies
You’ve never heard me sneeze
Or say “may I have a tissue please”
Let’s take a trip across this bridge
The one that drew our worlds near
And make an effort for this to work
Without that train, I draw on the fear
Of not playing my role
To pay for your toll
And serve you justice
Let’s catch happiness
Even with all these allergies
You’ve never heard me sneeze
Or say “may I have a tissue please”
You’d look at me instead of the window
Just for a second, to see if I’m doing OK

As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
This is just another song waiting to be written
Just another day without the sun being risen
As the comma breaks your run on sentence
I’m starting to believe you never meant this
The apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree
I’m no apple, you couldn’t be further from me
My wishes are yet to be fulfilled
You are such a distraction
You can see I’m not thrilled
You are just such a distraction
Strangers getting caught up in this boom
Five months ago was too early to assume
That forever would be just enough for us
I promised this to happen, it was my thesis
It’s about time to make my great escape
From a world I allowed you to reshape
I’m ready to be distilled
You are such a distraction
It’s time for us to rebuild
You are just such a distraction

i vaporized.
the way you shake
it's no surprise.
your sand castles
were built on lies.
with your thighs
i was hypnotized.
it was all phony
and you just looked right through me...
saying, "baby, come do me."
this is the memory i have of you.
i wish my life wasn't true.
i wish i never held the keys to your door.
i wish you never held the knife to my Heart.
where were you when i fell apart?
late at night
when something ain't right
you come Home.
could you please
go away?
save it for another day.
could you please
stay away?
save it for a rainy day.
if you come back, don't you come back
to me
i'll only see the things i want to see.
your Heart was Detroit and I was lost
in your streets.
stop waking me from my sleep
you're someone elses dream now.

stop moping and coping with grils
stop messing and dressing....the frills
that they wear are not there for you
to start weeping about and seeping
your sad days into
grils are just fun and that's it
if you want to throw the blue fit
when they catch you....and match you....
and distract you and protract you
then go do it somehow new
not 'oh, the gril caught me and bought me
and taught me that love is so sad and distressing'....
stop messing with grils - give them love
and attention.....and, yes, I might mention
give them words that will curdle their ribbons
and take them and make them come true
stop moping....start coping.....grils are the best
I rest
my case
the poem is recent
the situation is old
dreams are reoccurring
i don't think i've ever written one i could smile about, i don't know if that's possible? eh?
thanks again...
you may or may not of seen these before...
this is more of a hopeful one, and i like having hope...
There’s a vision of the past
Which clouds your trail today
But I’m glad you saw through
The games that I used to play
There’s a light you radiate
Casting shadows you create
But your flaws reflect my fears
Our parting is the cause
And the affects are my tears
So when I wake up next to your charm
And use my finger to outline your lips
You’ll tell me to rest my arm
And I’ll replace my hand with my kiss
I’ll put your body on display
And trace out all the things
I’ve only dreamt to say
A life full of events planned
But there are far too many
Miles from where we stand
and this one just made me happy writing it, its not exactly me that its talking about,
“It’s not you” he cries, “It’s me”
So the curtains close and she begins to weep
She asks “who, what when, why?”
He smirks and says “at least you try to try”
And these tears that fall from her chest
Are the groom’s stains on the brides dress
Tells herself they’re still a work in progress
She claims it not to be over yet
He knows it’s just another thing she won’t get
He lets the memories go with time
He’s moving forward letting bygone’s pass by
So this running make up makes a mess
Leaving grooms stains on the brides dress
Hoping he won’t have to waste another breath
She’s packed up and ready to move on
And they later pass with a new man on her arm
He calls her, “you’re exactly what I need”
She gladly reassures him, “It’s you, not me”
