The Plant
Spot In The Sky

In the midst of a wind filled storm
A dust hand was birthed from the ground
And depending whose looking
It told a different story
This one man saw a finger pointing north
He was feeling tired of the big life
In a big town with big shots
So he took the hands advice and set out
Looking for the smallest state he could find
He chose this as his place to reside
Cracked his piggy bank and got a place
Found a bed, a plant, and time
Referred to his bed as his waiting room
And referred to his plant for a smile
But when he clapped it didn’t dance
Cause in the past no one told him it was a toy
But still he continued to clap, night and day
No job, no love, just fleeting hope
The phone rang in rhythm with his clap
A girl from home was asking where he went
He said “just north of the south” and hung up
Afraid to rekindle an old flame, he let it ring
She showed up one day with a plant and a smile
They clapped together, night and day
He wouldn’t look at her, as to keep focus
She was the only thing he had ever seen
That cascaded over itself so elegantly
She grew bored and left her plant with him
He found the secret to making it dance
And hid it from light and water and love
The only dance it ever did was on its way out
Never to rise again.
...thank you,
Kevin.

this is excellent.. thank you Kevin..
As she slams the door in his drunken face
And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
youre as royal as shakes.....
A whisper and a chill
