I wanna watch a murder film....

ISNISN Posts: 1,700
ya know.....where someone's knocked off....
and it's dark and foggy
and damp and soggy
and all the clues have gone soft
and we really need a hard detective
man or woman
to divine the dangerous reason
why the victim was killed.....
I have dreams like this....
but sometimes I jus go shopping at night.....
but I'd like to try to figure out why the dead body appeared....
there!!!!!!
and who saw it surface.....
and why there are tire marks in mud
and the children of the local orphanage have received a cheque
and the local red cross is getting
more blood!!!!!
I wanna know who killed
the person
and why.....
and I wanna know this now....
I want a real-life thriller to open in front of my eyes....
because I want death to enliven me....
heeeeeee heeeeee
not really.....
I'm jus bored......
if it was TV.....then
maybeeeeee.....
heeeeeee heeeeee
forgive me......
I'm so bored.....

(crap peom)
....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......

right now, I have my baby....and life etc....
and I can't help wondering about my ex and me.....
    what's gonna happen etc....

but I've jus been listening to Jeff Buckley.....
    and he is amazing.....
and I don't understand why he died......

I feel very uncertain about that.....

    a murder mystery....?
he was so devout (devout to life).....and
yet suicidal.....how can he be dead......
    his voice is mythical......and poetic.....
same age as me....a real suicide mystery......
    guess we'll never know,
    but I feel things.....sometimes
....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......

I think sometimes when people actually commit suicide it's because they are somehow unstrung from too many people--the thread that keeps them connected is severed and there's no one nearby to re-tie it in that instant.

It's sad because I think the desire to die passes and if they had had a way to get thru those hours, people who have died would still be here. :(

ISN, I thought you might like this. There's a book I keep mentioning, Lit Riffs. Right in front of the short story, "Why Go" inspired by Pearl Jam, is the essay "Hallelujah" -- by tanker dane. It is inspired by Jeff Buckley's performance of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.

    Spoiler. Here's how it ends:

"Never a note or notes ever played compared to these. For all of its time, all of its music, all of its solos, improvs, freestyles, riffs . . . this guitar never sounded so grand yet ghostly, so harrowing and haunting; so hallelujah. The hand of the man to play the part, to fulfill its intent of truth, is to be saved as soon as it ceases, sacrificed as soon as his gift is given, with one final breath -- his song to the world . . . to save the world."

and tanker is a fan of the ellipses; he uses it four times in a three page essay. That's a bunch for a published essay, and he even ends one of his sentences like this . . .

she could have been more considerate ..... people die because there r times of the day when you have nothing to do.... when that hour comes when you're worked upon by every one ...but you yourself have nothing pending ... ... you can slide under for scrutiny ..... one reason is always there for you ..... waiting ... to convince .. yes that's why they die

thanks....you guys.....I'm so hooked on Jeff Buckley, and I can't accept he's dead.....I listen to him (I'm listnin to Neil Young right now - a totally different feeling....) but Jeff had a great range and was so gorgeous and magical.....it's really hard for me to accept.....I guess at the time I wrote this I was jus thinkin I haven't watched a murder film for ages......and with a few more glasses of red.....it progressed into a paean for Jeff......(Torin will be over here anon, and I've got to finish the dishes.....I hid from here for a few days cos I thought I'd blurted out crap on my epic night of two bottles of red and one long-neck, but I came back and it's not too bad......so I will see YOU, my lovelies, very soon :) )

If I had a dollar for every time I blurted out something stupid, I'd be a million air.

But, as it is, they don't give cash away for stupidity in America (this is actually a very debatable statement)

    Anywho . . .

Two Bottles of Red, for ISN

    Two bottles of red,
    What the fuck!
    Is that what I said?
    I didn't remember,
    I didn't know,
    After two bottles of red,
    I'm a little slow.

    Two bottles of red,
    I wish you were dead?
    THAT'S NOT WHAT I SAID!
    No, I meant Fred,
    I wish you were Fred,
    and I was Whilma,
    or Velma,
and we were in a cartoon,
    but since we're not,
give me two bottles of red,
    and off with my head.

(ISN, ISN, ISN -- do a long-neck poem, please!)

    a long-neck is a bottle
it has a very long neck....
    like a giraffe
and often when you drink from it
    you make very big gaffes....
you can buy them in stubbies
and drink schooners at the bar
but of all the beer in Australia,
    I prefer long-necks by far
    they're 750 ml
    and still they're quite small
so you have to have three
    or have none at all.....
    if you're drinking wine too
    and wine is my flavour
    then a long-neck before
    is something you'll savour
    I like carlton draught
    JC got me hooked
but VB's or Toohey's are still very respectable.....
for those of you drinking from said such receptacle....
    order Carlton!!!!!
although the beer a la mode for those who like drink
    is still the old guinness
    $4.50 I think....:D

    I'll drink to that!

(but not right now; it's not even seven am)

    That is one fun poem.
