all that I've had to go through
and all that I've ever done
will finally be forgotten
like cotton-pickers in the sun
drinking rum....we'll run foto
and be free....my toto's calling me
back to kansas....and darling

my darling son....we'll run away

I can't pay my way...with tears no more
and you won't pay that way, I swore it)

all that I've had to go through
and all that I've ever won
will be forever relished
on our island in the sun
we'll meet with kings and princes
and feathery indian chiefs
and child, our history will be
sculpted in bas-relief
on walls of emerald and sapphire
in fountains of green and blue
we'll make the golden kapphir
write verses round and true
and we'll dance to drums of angels
hearts as they beat for me and you

all that I've ever gone through
and all of the deaths they tolled
will be written in streams of silver
will be sounded in rivers of gold
and then, when I finally know it
and then, when you see that it's true,
you'll know darling you're the reason
for all that I ever do

i love writing poetry for the ones that i love. it expresses how i feel, and also it's positive for me as well. i really like the rhyming, and the fantastical feel of this piece.
