I read efforts on here....
on the Poetry forum....
which aren't poetry,
or even poetic....
which bear no resemblaaaaaaaaance to poetry
from my dreams, from my knowledge
from music, or from life......
I get this weird tic in my face
and I announce to nobody
(there's nobody here)
in a LOUD BRITISH ACCENT!!!!!
'it's not poetry'......
and after that I feel a bit calmer....
not much, but a little bit
....they're asking me to prove why I should be allowed to stay with my baby in Australia, because I'm mentally ill......and they think I should leave......

    when I read efforts on here . . .
    on the Poetry forum . . .
    which aren't poetry,
I wonder if I'm on the wrong thread
and I get pulled back into
the minute hand turning towards 5pm
    where I realize

I'm not doing my work if I'm reading this.

When I read poetry on here
I get this little tap of my foot
and I say to my pet bird
    in a soft British accent
    'there's some good stuff'
    and my bird tweets back
as he prunes his clearwing skyblue plumes
    and chirrups iambics and spondaic
spontaneous trilling rills, filling with song
    dream vistas of spectral glimmers
at the back of old bookcases
shining, lining the faces of approving sages
from the pages of poetry of old :)

If my dead dog's spirit stood near my foot
    he would wag
    in English Springer Spaniel accent
"Ricky Wonderpup is the best part
    of the Bibliobella superhero comics"

    and I would say
while filling his leash with air,
    "You're right!"

When I am desparate for proof
that God knows I am desparate (for proof)
    I am caught paging
    filmish paper, eyes closed
    (knowing nowhere's better something
    knowing nothing notwithstands)
    Lo! Behold, it's Abraham...
    his son's second wife, resplendent,
    steeped. An angried penting
    prayer unheard.
If God were man, regret the use.
If she were God, she'd like abuse.
