hope

like one senses another staring from behind
I sensed you before you came
Like one calls out for a child lost
I called to you at evey turn
waiting for a reply that took too long
a distant sound
so faint it was bearly heard
magnified by hope
loud and resounding
until it reached me as if by megaphone
and I could breathe for the first time in so long
don't know when I began to hold me breath
don't know when I stopped believing I would find you
probably after I looked under the bed
in every cupboard and the yard
walking down the street in quickened paces
looking for you in every face that I saw
starting to believe my senses were wrong
a misguided hope
taught to all good children as a method of survival

I was wrong
Hope is stronger than it seems
and never dies until we do
when there appears to be so little
is when it's working at it's hardest
stretching thin to get us through
to the next time we won't need it

  • desire to be reunited with somebody after being separated is all consuming
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

I really like this one, good read. :)
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!
  • I liked this, pacifier. :) One of those ones you can keep going back to, to put a smile on your face :) - to remind you that hope is never lost.
Forget your perfect offering, there is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in. - Leonard Cohen
