he doesn't know

he doesn't know better than
to drink the sand
and call it water

she reaches out her hand
to rise him up
and dust him off

he doesn't understand this gesture
she looks so odd in that pose
he has seen others like her
how was he to know?

he shoos her away
the weird creature doesn't move
he rises to his knees and bares his teeth

she takes a step
is it worth it
does he want it
crouches down
and tries again

she wants to lead him
theres a place that she knows
where life is in abundance
and water overflows

will he go?
will he go?

The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

Good poem! I liked it alot. Isn't there a Ms. Pacman? You know with a bow and all? She eats dots too and outruns ghosts.
Our love must not be just words, but True Love, which shows itself in action,
No one needs a smile more than someone who fails to give one,
After you die...you know how to LIVE!

  • I thought this was very sweet, Ms. Pacman--like you were in the process of trying leading the horse to water. :)

more like trying to lead a horse to open green pastures with flowing creeks and lots of other nice horses when he doesn't know such a thing exists and doesn't want to leave his deserted barran land and quickly drying pond for fear of starving. if that makes sense. only it's a man. who doesn't know better.

Well, he's afraid of starving but if his pond is drying, he won't survive in his wasteland too long anyway. It's a shame he won't accept a helping hand. He doesn't understand, that's probably why he fears.

Well, you're welcome--you deserved them because guess what??? Contrary to what you said in your "shout" thread, you don't suck! :)
