Walls

Walking the streets of Everytown
Never more alone than in a crowd
I'm in isolation

Get home to my little box
It's got just 1 door but 14 locks
I'm in isolation

Hear the screams echo through the hall
But I believe in my walls
Sick of listening to the calls
Turn up the TV, hear nothin at all

Watching the news, I'll be on it tomorrow
Words filled with pain, eyes filled with sorrow
"After she died, I searched the house thorough
But I never found that broom that she 'borrowed'."

And the cops will ask questions like "What did you see?"
"I saw nothin, except the TV,
'cause where we live there's a wall in between
specially designed so nothing is seen."

"Tell us then, what did you hear?"
"Nothin odd, 5 minutes of fear
before I went and grabbed another beer,
after that nothing is clear

'cause I live in isolation
hear no - see no - nothint at all
Each to their own, I say
I'm protected by my walls."
