I watched as you slept
eyes bright and dreaming behind dark curtains
saw the stars bend down to kiss you goodnight
when they thought that noone was looking
oh how they admired you
yet you were unaware
how many nights had their tears sung you to sleep
how many days had they spent watching you
from behind daylights heavy veil
and all of this time you were blind

All this time wanting what they could never have
yet I knew you wanted too

if only distance didn't exist
if only their love wouldn't burn

And behind fluttering eye lids
I see you are together at last
