    My preference is music blogs. Whole albums zipped using winrar and uploaded to sites dedicated to specialist genres etc. An amazing way to hear new music.

    I also use bittorrents.

    i used to use Oink untill it shut down,

    waffles is supposed to be good (i haven't found an invite yet). i use my oink user/pswd from time to time to see if it works...
    <why is waffles.fm red everytime it's mentioned???>

    piratebay & torrentz are decent, but i don't like using them too much to check out music (quality is not dependable).

    If you only want to pay 20 cents for a drm free song file go to http://www.mp3fiesta.com. This is the new allofmp3.com for those that used that service before it got shutdown.

    im not sure if anybody mentioned it yet...but http://www.ruckus.com

    you can download entire albums in a matter of seconds for free...the only problem is that you have to have a college email address and as far as i know you cannot burn the files onto a cd or Ipod..but im sure there is a way to work around that
    i'll trade you my tee shirt for a grilled cheese
