Fooled You

Immense penetration into this mind I see,
A tearful eye smiles happily,
Dressing my thoughts in beautiful clothes,
Looking around, noticing no one knows.
My escape is hidden from public view,
Would they disown me if they only knew?
The thoughts that bounce around in my head,
A smile on my face leaves me for dead.
Intense emotion pours through my laughter,
The music can’t save me, what are they after?
Keeping me down all this time,
I’ll fight on, I’ll report this crime.
To the authorities that won’t listen to what I have to say,
I’ll speak in tongues, to confuse them anyway.
I won’t let you in, there’s no door as you can see,
My room is empty, but I’ll be damned if I flee.
It’s safe in here and I’m buried alive,
If my heart should stop, please don’t revive.
It’s only temporary, I’m used to this.
In my comfort zone, this is my bliss.
My own little playground with no swings,
A mime with a beautiful voice can not sing.

Being Enlightened

This poem really hit me because it echos some sentiments of a poem a boy wrote me in high school. He'd said something like "he smiled and played the clown but really he was dying inside and down...", something like that--it made me sad. I couldn't be what he wanted me to be, I just wanted his friendship. :(

This poem, it's reaching out waiting for someone to comfort. I wish people didn't feel like they had to hide themselves away for fear of what others will think.

Once again nothingbetter, I like the metre....and the way it's almost in couplets (a different idea dealt with every two lines).....I'm sure you don't really feel like this though
