"Burn"
Staring up at the moon,
my retinas burn,
from the pale light shining down,
eyes detach from the nerve,
that tells me to look away
so I stay afixed
to this doomful gaze
and admire it's beauty
calling out to my soul
like a tidal wave without a shore
searching for comfort
of that which it cannot touch.
Stars smile down at a carcus
that was me...
flashing with glee
at the constellation my heart never made.
