Wake Me

standing half asleep
in the middle of your wake
I wanna be the piece
that leaves you in your place
but all my incomplete
nonsensical beliefs
have lead me half astray
and I need someones voice
to bear down on me
tell me what I need to hear
tell me everything will be okay
tell me that I am not awake

god, am I not awake?
I tried to be a better me
In the end I looked like the rest of them.

    I shouldn't have to fight a battle I'll never win, just to lose those I've never had.

    theres nothing for me to do
    and i cant feel
    and im not very intelligent

    i come here to absorb something true
    and leave a message for a friend
    and i leave here in fear
    in fear of my home
