I tore a bit of the fabric today
I reached my hand as far as it could go.
All the generous thoughts and idea's that come along
Peace and love, prosperity?
Just words we can't ever relate to.
it's partially my fault in that regard
It's a shame I ever thought I could reach you.

Just when I decide to pour my heart out
Someone come's along and mops it up
All dried and caked along the surface
A stain that will never again be a nuisance.
Have I ever told you it's me who broke the silence
the eeriness of night never becomes easier
Time, the great healer, never seems to make this easier.

It's a quarter to ten
Do you happen to remember
what you just did
At a quarter to ten.

The blood pours out of the vein
Punctured and breaking faster
I can't get away from this thought
The Pain is a juicy red.

It's a shame I ever thought I could reach you.
I tried to be a better me
In the end I looked like the rest of them.

Peace, love and prosperity. I think that's what we all want.

The pain comes in when we don't know how to reach that goal. :(

If we break it down to essentials, it seems to include being a loving parent, a loving spouse, and having a job that allows us to care for the family. At least for me, that's what it looks like.
