take all you want
as I lie dead
waiting for the pounce
the last living shred
decency's gone out the window
and respect is laid to rest
you've buried your last soldier
and spoken your last debt

I won't give in
to the lies you say so often
I won't give you my life
for the sake of a country
that means nothing
without it's people
just give back what you've taken
and maybe I'll believe in you

raking in all the cash
feeding the greed you love
it's gotten to misguided
who you believe and who you trust
I want to tell you how I'm feeling
but the feelings will just be lost
in the sense of urgent attention
you've craved for so long

taking without giving
this stance will not last
you cannot waste all our resources
the children we made to love
just give back what you've taken
and maybe you'll gain our trust.
