Oh daddy did you?
Tell me if so then how could you
When you hold me in your arms can you smell her sweet scent?
When you comb my gentle hair.
Daddy please
Tell me it isn’t so.
Daddy’s dead.
I guess my answer’s waiting in the snow.

Run away running as long as I remember.
From place to place these busy nest trips.
No house no values all mixed in proportion.
Barefoot with chickens
Is it a glimpse of my past or a forgone conclusion?
Of what I have to come.

Well respected in tropics with the wings of an angel.
Mostly feared in the states with the fist of a stone.
Did you have to take her in front of my lashes?
Did you have to bring me along for the ride?
Daddy tell me one day while I slumber.
Daddy please don’t leave this unknown.

Mother??
Was your death alone?
