How can we not be beaten and bruised
from the waves of time.
Trying hard to withstand the echos
of the friends and enemies,
that have fallen under life's
constant bombardment of
the promise of tomorrow.

The eyes dry from dusty pictures.
Fingernails pulled back
while holding on to the guardrail
that keeps us in this life.
Lips cracked repeating the names
of the loves we lost,
from our stupidity or theirs.
Ears bleeding,
on to cheeks that are already red.

The hands of time are not kind.

I don't find life to be so harsh.....maybe for some who are unfortunate.....I think life is a lovely walk in the park.....and I ring praise to God that I'm so happy.....
