so long

I never knew
that it meant that much to you
To fly above these filthy streets
with pockets filled with needs

It's been so long
so long
since our last caress
since our last mess
leaving you
walking with dirty shoes

Now I can't find the road
that would take me home
to see you rise above
my forgotten love
Live the life you dream

"Cause I can't wait to figure out what's wrong with me
So I can say this is the way I use to be" -- John Mayer

Thanks, Being Enlightened. It's one of those snapshot emotion poems. Trying to get the most emotion in a compact expression.
