The Mirror

i wrote this song tonight.. well ive had the guitar done for a long time but only now finally finished the lyrics to go with it.. this song is called "The Mirror".. im curious to see if anyone can figure out what The Mirror represents

I watch the rain fall down on me
As I stand stranded in the hole that I have dug
There’s no use trying to understand me
Everything will be complete once I am gone
I’ve spent too much time trying
Why won't everyone just let me be
If my state really does matter
Then stand clear as I self-destruct my life

In the mirror I see the pain I’ve caused
In the mirror I see what I’ve become
In the mirror I see that I'm alone

The other day I started wondering
How can I love you when I hate myself?
So many times you said I mattered
If I do then why are you still gone?
I use to smile and join in laughing
Before the wind came and blew away my joy
There puzzled faces have kept me asking
How the fuck could I do this to myself

    will probably make a good song

    you can only see what you've become if you look at yourself from the inside - deep down. See yourself from the inside, but separate from your body
    so is it your inner self, your conscience, your walls, the people close to you? the person whom you love?

    what is the mirror?

    The mirror is the person you loved. You see yourself as he/she saw you.

    nope.. ill just tell you.. the mirror is my writing.. like the reflection of my true self/feelings,.. as they say.. "music is reflection of self"
