oceans of time

on this night
angels light his way to the cabin
for he's sailed his last of oceans
more nautical miles than most men could imagine

he's filled his metal mug with glass bottom
to see through
one last time

his kids now grown
and with kids of their own
won't smell his salty wool
no more
they won't reach up
with sticky fingers
to lose them inside
his massive black beard

how ice berg eyes
could be so kind
at some times
hurts inside
was it all in their minds?

together but alone
would never know another
he had no idea
how to be a father

a man lost at sea

but existed in solidarity
to prove strength unknowingly
how to be cold and deflect
for protection
still wrong

maybe not
if they understood..
even if he didn't...
.maybe what they needed
..to sing his song

extreme... evolution..
undermined..pushed around..and becoming..

it's okay..it's okay

watch him sail away
it's always been this way
..easier to not face the day..

...so into the night..
..he follows the light..
..back to his cabin..
...sleep tight..
..bumble bugs bite..
