wow, some people on here need to chill...

ok, so i started the "stones solo stuff is crap" thread yesterday, just as one reply said because its really the only place to talk pearl jam related stuff, and a good number of people thought it was "unclassy" for me to do this... lol first off, let me say it was done light heartedly. i knew some on here cant handle the more negative critiques of the band or their music, thats why i made sure to say at the end that stone is my favorite guitarist in the band. also pointed out that alot of pearl jams great music has been written by stone. by saying it was crap, i didnt mean any harm to stone or his artistry. if i came on to do that, i could have used alot more harsh words than "crap".. lol it was just a simple discussion i started to see who liked his new solo stuff and who didnt. simple as that. its weird that some people on here feel the need to "stick up for the band" at every chance. im sure stone never comes on here in the first place, and im sure in his 20 year career, he has heard alot worse comments than mine, and could care less. again, it was done light heartedly. some of you need to chill out.

    We are all entitled to our own opinion, just ignore the people who can't handle criticism :)

    An artist who puts any kind of work up for public use must be prepared to take all kinds of reactions, we can't all love everything these guys put on record, right?

    Personally, I've never liked Stone's solo stuff either. It seems to not follow from the Stone we know and love in Pearl Jam, the guy that writes awesome songs. There's like a disconnection.

    When i come on here and see something negative aboiut say, Jack Irons's disc attention dimension (which I find beyond incredible) I find it can be a bit discomforting, but on the other hand it makes me ill to see so many people who can't take shit without beligerantly extolling the virtues of the band, it is pretty sad.

    I think if you think attention dimension for e.g. is piece of shit, you should be able to say so. Just like if you go to a party of a friend and he is serving and raving about some rare endangered sturgeon caviar you should be able to say hey man, whats with this pretensious slop? It tastes like crap,Get a grip brother ( or sister). Likewise if they really like it they can say, i like it, so eat up or try the pizza.

    Do you go into people's homes and tell them their furniture is ugly and their kids are stupid and their food tastes bad?

    It's kinda the same thing to come to Stone's website and do that.

    no one on that thread said that you weren't entitled to your opinion on their side projects but there is a way to say things... this site is hosted by the band's fanclub so pretty much hosted by the band.. there are better ways to talk about someone's efforts than calling it crap... I think that's what other people had a problem with not that you didn't like his new stuff.

    ....we are guests here....so we should act like such...

    Considering that I was the first one to respond to your LAST thread(which for the life of me I cant figure why this couldnt have been kept there) and tell you that you needed some class, I will take it that I am one of the "people who need to chill".. I will reitterate to you that I could really give two shits about what you think of the music or stone or the other side projects that they are involved in...My point was AND STILL is, that the way you chose to put it out there was in my OPINION, CLASSLESS....As has been stated by others, it is the bands website, and I thought it was in bad taste to come HERE and say what you said HOW you said it. That is all. Sorry that it is so hard for you to cut through the metaphors and comparisons, but as I also said, what did you expect? So once again, it wasnt about your thoughts ON the music, but how you PRESENTED it mkay??? I look forward to your next thread on the topic...;)

    In my opinion, Stone's solo stuff is pretty fucking shitty and his vocals are beyond God awful..don't let these kids get to you..speak your mind brotha..

    I didn't answer on his other thread because I didn't think the point was getting across.
    Even on this thread there are still people saying "dont let others bug you speak your mind" :rolleyes: it's almost like they purposely chose not to read the part were we said it's not about what you think about the music but how you say it....

    Besides I'm surprised the OP was surprised to get negatives comments with a thread title like that one he started :confused:

    I scoped out the other thread after reading some of this one..It personally doesn't bother me that this person call Stone's stuff 'crap,' and not only because I agree ;)..but because to me it's just so insignificant..if you dig it, that's all that matters..If I think it's shit, that's my problem and probably my loss...just like I don't care if someone bashes Vedder and PJ..Fuck'em :)..

    I don't like Stone's stuff either.. I kinda like that song he did with the girl but only because I like the girls voice, I don't like Stone's voice and I really don't dig any of his side projects. I guess it's just not my cup of tea.

    I guess I just wouldn't find it in me to come here and call it crap just because it doesn't appeal to me at all, let alone make it my thread title.

    Valid points..personally I'd rather debate Stone's crappy solo stuff as opposed to reading about Ed's love stick/Pics where Ed looks hot..so I stay away from it..I wouldn't classify this site as anything but dysfunctional :)....Classy? Have you been to the Moving Train..lol..

    I love Stone, and I love Brad, but when I saw him with the Hank Khoir at the Showbox on Nov. 3rd, I couldn't believe how bad (IMO) the music and his voice were. It wasn't my cup of tea BUT he looked like he was having a blast. I just wouldn't rush out and buy anything he sings on.
    If I knew where it was, I would take you there....there's much more than this.
