passion

when you speak
of lost passion...
do not mistake it for lust,
which is strong, but short-lived --
chills will evaporate...
excitement becomes expectation...
electricity loses its spark...
eventually
and for everyone.

the fires of lust will always
die down...
but true passion
is the coal beneath the flames --
simmering...
waiting for the right conditions
to flare up
and burn brightly again
if only for a moment.

the thrill of lust
can always be found
waiting in greener pastures --
but it's flames are fleeting, unlike
the desire...
the adoration...
the constant burning...
of the passion
i have for you.

  • Passion is indeed a slow burner! Thankyou for your poem. :)
  • You touched my subtle mind
and lite up all that you are

    You touched my sublte mind
blissed, you filled up the scars

I always knew it was you,
    even inside the grey.
"and the fires are burning so many dreams on the shelf you say i wanted you to be proud of me i always wanted that myself"
