  • Hi - Thicht Nat Hanh is a fabulous resource for beginning concepts on Buddisim. Extremely easy reads as well. Of Course there is the Dali Lama as well and both of them write for the masses so it's simple and easy. There is a guy named Noah who wrote a book called Dharma Punks that leads a lot of budhist meditations on the west and east coast. They are making a movie of his life - he was incarcerated and a huge addict and meditation saved his life according to him. It's kind of a punks guide to Buddhism.

You might want to know that it is spelled "om" not "aum". It's a very universal chant that is also used by Hindus. Good luck on your path!

"May the longtime sun shine upon you and all love surround you. May the divine light within you guide your way on"
"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to eachother." Mother Theresa

    i love the "om"

and i recently found out that it is a part of my culture here in the south.

it's kept sort of secret a passed through people who have the gift -- they literally speak things out of a person. i was told about dozens of people who've been cured here by this. even patients who have third degree cancer burns -- they call it speaking the fire out

long live "om" in all of its forms and spellings -- humans at their finest.
