2 roads leading to a path
and the winner is...

I walked a road back when I was young
this road was big enough for only one
when the road ended I came upon a path
this path spread out so that two could be one
a few years down this path and all seemed well
until some cracks and bumps along the way
showed us that one should be two.
I came to the end of the path and there was a road
the road will lead somewhere where there is a path
will I walk this last path alone as you follow behind me
or do I slow down my pace so that once again
we are walking it as two.

we find out who we are when we find out who we love

there's a lot to consider in this part of the poem. slowing, stopping, leaving behind. its all a matter of the heart and what the heart knows to be true.
that being said though, if someone is on the path with you - then you aren't alone. so even during those moments when you are in front or fall behind, hopefully there is that presence, the assurance, the companionship and the connection.
