Simple (dedicated to Ali)

With a simple, smiling gesture,
God flicked His wrist
thick fingers tipped
pointing to a doorway where
no boards have ever hung.
The low begins again, and
you remember that it's not that bad.
Drop your head.
Bend your belly for your bag.
Unbend and send it
catching on a star.
Squared. Remiss, regardless.

Your souls remember walking.
Your wings whitewashed, are drying.
There is music for the flying
And cash and moonlight wine to buy.

    you know i was just in jersey? visiting old friends. it was really nice...

    i thought of you-all...

    got into the rental car, turned on the radio, and they were doing an hour of PJ... the first caller when Alive started won tix to W.C.... i'd LOVE to see them there with you guys :)
