Wonderful! I woke up and read "Isla Negra." Dude can write, eh? So often I want to post his stuff here because it's rare that I read a style like his.

So many of the best poets are SO comfortable with words. There's no herky-jerky oddness... no "word I'd've chose differently". No stretching or poetic overcompensation. They don't seem to exaggerate, know what I mean? They can make it mean what they mean without tricks or "poetic TOOLS".

    They just feel natural.

    Neruda does this.

    :) thanks, again

    Dear Grandfather Webb from England

    .........How cruel
    .........that when the babies
    .........are thrown away
    .........they do not die
    ...but circle forever
    ...in the evening news,
    ...stories that hide,
    ...a thirst that scurries
    ...into the rain, a reflection
    ...within your great looking glass,
    little things with copper skin,
obsidian eyes, signs of the places
    you colonized, unfinished murders,
    incomplete demolitions, women
    ...with furies half won,
    ...hearts half broken,
    ...the sticky birch leaf,
    ...the wormy acorn,
    ...blackberries that bristle
    ...on a Berkeley back fence.
    .....A girl runs the length
    .....of the bay tree canyon
.....to find and carve some secret place
    .....between the sweetly cured tobacco
    .....in your favorite meerschaum pipe
.....and the pages you made into a prison
.....to trap and press the flowers you would find
.....in a book bound with leather,
.........girl with eyes dark as decay,
    .........goes into forever, touches only
    .........the rage of ghosts
    .........with her skin of moonstone,
    sits rocking and remembering
    you not remembering her.

I feel this one.... hope you like
