from our heads and place them on the table
from the table, they will see
they will see intensely-beautiful me
eyeless. senseless. and searching.

they will see the empty pen
and the ink that's smeared upon my chin
and they will giggle (cuz they can)
and they will talk and call me silly

my eyes are of my favorite things
brown paper packages
tied up in string

  • This poem is like the movie Beetlejuice, at first it really creeps you out, but later you see it's quite endearing.

Two thumbs up, I quite liked it

  • This is really, really good!!! It's smiling out of the screen at me. :) I love the last 3 lines and I'm going to be humming that tune all day now...

    "...when the dog bites,
    when the bee stings,
    when I'm feelin' sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
and then I don't feel so bad..."

    :D

Because the images are clear I think it's one of your best recent poems.

  • Love the ending. I read it over and over
It doesnt hurt.... when I bleed
    but memories...they eat me
    I've seen it all before,...
bring it on cause I'm no victim.

  • great writing. Well done
The only thing I enjoy is having no feelings....being numb rocks!

And I won't make the same mistakes
    (Because I know)
Because I know how much time that wastes
    (And function)
    Function is the key

    thank you, each

i wrote this in a moment of shell-shock... from ground zero, as it were. i had no idea what i wanted... but i knew i wanted to love, regardless. regardless of the shit that clogs our heart's drains...

part of me wants to say what it's about
and part of me wants to know why you guys like it. like... what's it mean to you... cuz that'd be cool to know

but maybe it's just one of those things.

    much peace to poets
though, i'm afraid that there'd be far less poetry
without the hell that keeps us wishing for heaven.

I think you are right, whether for good or bad.
