BUT...

i wish this was the brainiac's page.... i'm reading some fascinating stuff these days....

"A common clinical manifestation of this transformative power of emotion can be seen in a survivor of physical abuse, who, as a child, learned painfully, terrifying lessons that anger is dangerous and destructive. As an adult, she INDISCRIMINATELY disavows any internal experience of anger and is thereby robbed of resources geared toward self-protection, empowerment, and ability to negotiate and defend interpersonal boundaries. In the absense of anger's adaptive information and action tendencies, she is exquisitely vunerable to re-victimization."

~Lamagua, et.al. Journal of Trauma and Dissociation

dang... which PJ tune is this?

i, like, Eiffel-Tower-Highly recommend this psyche paper to ANYONE who feels like doing any of the following in the middle of an argument with their loved-one:

    going to sleep
choosing peach over pink for curtains
    cutting the grass
finding out the score on whichever game is currently on TV
    changing the channel
counting the dust bunnies under the table
    etcetera, etcetera....

It's about checking out... to various degrees, thwarting our real hope for an authentic, real-time life. (i didn't even know that's what i was doing.... i'm wow-i-fied...) and, it's not like, a self-help book... it's a paper, written by and for shrinks, not clients. i think very nicely done. :)

    hope you like it :D
