I am Him

and here we are again
with the flat skin cells
split open like a rosebud
that has given up
to soft, persistent winds.
Pressed apart and curious
as to where I might have been.
Everything begins closed up
and moves to opening
this split apart has never been
so free. I'm singing Psalms
over and over and over again.
To myself, this time I am Him
God, moving things around
to suit His whim

Lovely simile in the first sentence. In fact the whole poem has the structure and gleam of a flower. :)

    :)
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
