Dumb Question???

I'm just wondering how they could have actually run out of Ten Club tickets for MSG. I thought that Ten Club reserves all tickets up close ahead of time, which to me really means as many as THEY need, and THEN releases the rest to Ticketmaster or whoever sells them. So why wouldn't there be enough for people in the club not to get tickets? I'm just wondering, and sorry if it appears to be a dumb question.

Others know more about this than I do, but there is a certain amount allotted to 10 club. A few years ago that number shrank. I'm not sure what percentage of the house goes to 10c.
Using the word "methinks" in your message board posts doesn't make you look smart.

According to some reports, Ticketmaster only allows 10% of the total tickets to be sold through fan clubs

no that's not really how it works, from what I've heard on here the 10C only reserves 10% of the venue's capacity for 10C members

  • although im not sure, ive read on these boards the past few days that venues only allow 10% of all tickets to go to fan club sales. i may be wrong, but thats what ive heard. but this seems quite marginal to me. is MSG 20,000 so thats 2,000 fan club tixs, which in pairs equates to only 1000...no wonder i didnt get any!

  • Alright. I had no idea it was only 10%. With the fanclub seemingly growing in the past few years, I'm kind of surprised that more isn't allotted. Although, I'm sure Ticketmaster are the dicks in this case, as they usually are the problem. Or was it Stone? I think Stone was the problem. Yeah... that's it.
