i took this shockage bit of writing
from what i've seen on bathroom walls
all around the country, in the smallest
of farmtowns, to a bursting metropolis

i have found that the numb exist
among us everywhere our life takes us
with no longer a care, they do not seek
our opinions or preconceptions, they
only care to make it through the day

i found that boredom creeps into even
the disciplined, forcing them to look
past their bounds and limits and live
for once in their own definition of
freedom, only to be brought down
by the system claiming freedom

and lastly, i found that love exists
perhaps only to kill us, to weaken
our moral restrictions bend and break
for the one we think we have found.
ah, it seems as though lives have been
thrown away for this four letter creation.

Mitch Hedberg- RIP 1968-2005. your jokes have laughed me through a lot. I thank you.

    so so true.

by the way, i've read others by you...you're very good.
    You ask me to enter
But then You make me crawl
And I can't be holding on
    To what You got
When all You've got is hurt
    ----
    Underneath this smile lies everything
All my hopes and anger, pride and shame
  • thanks violet. appreciated. i hoped some people would agree with some of the things i said in this. i suppose these are most of the real things i've learned about humans in my short 17 year life so far.
but thanks for the compliment, always feels good
