woman,
all your life
vanity has been your name.

What was it you wore last night?
He said your hair looked great,
after your brushed it
and kept it straight
and likened of recent style.
You were a star and danced
and the glances fell upon you from all angles.

But its the courageous that you did not see.
The ones that really know.
Skin and bones are what you were
and now your teeth are dim with make-up.

Just remember the skull no longer has no eyes.
And with no eyes, you surely can't see those looking at you.

    I think worrying more about the outside than the inside is the surest way to be unhappy too.

    Neat picture and I like your verbal version as well. :) What if there were no mirrors, no make-ups, no hair sprays, no nips, no tucks...what if we were all true to ourselves and to others??? Wouldn't that be something? :)
