One year later...aren't things supposed to be working out?
--
We the infinitely unemployable
pitch orthopedic shoes and
coupon books and
overpriced tutoring
to those who will not improve
We the college grads
endure geriatrics and Medicare concerns and
knocking on doors for 12 hours at 90 degrees and
the destruction of another chair or display or morning
(the rage, the rage)
We, the servants of consistent, utterly blind ambition
obey a small voice whispering
“something better” but cannot make it
elaborate
(progress, progress)

I wish I was a Democrat
One that had a chance to win
I wish I was a Republican
But would I be a human being?
