When I walk past your window,
and you see me across the shades,
Pretend I was a faded promise,
but don't call me regret.

When I tell you I've been thinking,
And you say you just don't care,
Put a smile on your face,
and don't call me regret.

When I ask you with my eyes,
why is it that you need to hide,
Pretend you didn't listen,
but don't call me regret.

When you find those other lips,
and their kiss doesn't feel the same,
learn how to taste them again,
but don't call me regret.

I'm just a stone,
that you chose to step on,
you can kick it away,
but don't say you regret.
"The joke in your language won't come out the same" (Tom Petty)
I'm no dude! Dudette!
