If we were...

Your catatonic solitary beliefs;
Troubled with understanding my release.
Feeling bound by undefined obligations
Seemingly tied together by random celebrations
Believing in us, and our
Venerable blind faith trust
And what if this all means
Something more than you’re willing to give
Will this all mean
We go on afraid to really live?
If we look back and realize
That we were together far longer than would should have been
Does this mean one of us was afraid to give in?
If we were perfect
Would things be different
If we were imperfect
Would things remain unchanged?
Your perception has always
Been my reality
My reality has always been
Something I have always wanted to change

Seems easy enough, right? To change someone's perception? The problem lies in perceptions being based the holder's own frame of reference. Nothing, I say but nothing, can ever change the past that brings us to our current frames, except of course our own maturity in which things might soften up a little bit, forgivenesses granted, etcetera...

In this is seems the only way to change one's reality is to hang out with people who honestly like you ~ in which climate you might be able to see why they do. And even then, it's a lot of work. :)
