three truths

first one's mine
it always comes first
it has to.
humanity has it's ways.
no escaping that...
no point in even trying.
eyes can only see in one direction
god made it that way.
never claimed to not be stubborn
but admit to it?
never, gotta stay firm.
gotta hold ground
it's my reality
you can't take it.

the next one,
that one's yours.
apparently the contrast
could not be starker
or so it's claimed.
then again it's not MY reality
so it doesn't quite cut it.
afterall, my reality is all i have.
it's all i've been blessed with.
it's all you've been blessed with
the same deck
the same cards.
the hand you've been dealt?
mine always trumps.

but then...
there's the truth.
the reality.
not yours.
not mine.
the so-called grey area
where your black meets my white.
the analogy of color so simple
yet so true
the grey,
that's the truth
the whole world's made of it
nothing but grey
and no matter how skilled the artist
how divine the inspiration
grey can't be made without white.
grey can't be made without black.

  • the clouds
    perpetually above
    always casting a shadow
    hovering metaphorically
    simply don't look up
    maintain tunnel vision
    focus forward
    maintain discipline
    don't let it happen
    don't look up
    never lose focus
    don't look up
    don't look up
    don't look up
