My Love Is An Echo
(For L.)
My love
is an
echo of
smiley laughter,
sparkly
bright
beaming
with bliss
joy and
dewy damp
as an
apple of
green, red
yellow, gold
(delicious).
Her being
rests now
inside me,
more soul
than flesh,
yet O! her
flesh is
enchantment
and promise
and as soft
as dogwood
flowers, or
cherry blossoms.
My love
has my heart
tucked away
deep inside
her sumptuous
breasts, and
our hearts
beating to
a single
drum that
others do
not hear.
Dolphina,
redhawk,
lion-kin
our genetic
force now
merged in
firelove-
sunquakes
trembling.
before dawn.
On this
third day
after her
departure,
the taste
of her
last kiss
lip gloss
lingers as
sweetness
upon my
lips, as
her honey
(clear)
still beckons
me towards
far western
beaches &
hummingbirds
dancing in
canyon breezes.
This is
my perfect
girl, coo
cooing in
night's rest
upon my
gnarly fur,
oh great
sea turtles
keep watch
over her
as she surfs,
oh dolphins
my cousins,
remind her
to breathe,
great hawk
cover her
sweet and
wobbly tail
feathers as
she proceeds
to making
of our
new life,
our lives
renewed
within each
Otter's swim.
O! My darling--
before there
was nothing &
now there is
so much
everything in
Life's journey,
for together,
our voices
may yet
change the
world as
known before.
My precious,
pillow yr
breasts, yr
dancing thighs
and your
pinkened lips
upon my
tendril shoot,
nourish and
feed me
with little
glimpses into
your soulworld,
for so few
have looked
there--and I
the first
to enter,
need your
own atlas
to guide
me in the
inner voyage
your subconscious
sea, large
previously
tumultuous, yet
calmed by
knowing I
AM WITHIN.
Late now--
I will go
and dream
some more
of you, yr
fine hair
and electric
eyes, your
cute as
a button
nose, ears,
teasing lightly
against belly
button flesh,
my breath
racing against
your loins
as stars
dancing around
an ever
changing moon.
You are,
by all
accounts,
remarkable.
You are
by all
accounts
my lover.
Patience
virtue, joy
bringer, the
echo inside
my heart.

But since the poem is over 2 years old, it's obviously not a work in progress, so to hell with my constructive criticism.
That being said: "sunquakes" is a great madeup word! Bravo!
"our genetic

----Oooooooooooooo!!! I just loved that!
my love is an echo....
i can see where the obvious association might be echo, as in loss or less-than...but IMAGINE
echo...as warm and fluid mirror,
ECHO as she loves deeply....Narcissus, gazing at his own beautiful reflection in the pond....
imagine a resonation of self....
a mirrorself responding in deep love echoes,
echoes
of beauty.....
in Greek, echo is sound....
but i do appreciate, that through usage, the term can have a certain feel.....
ahhh but again, envision,
some mystic yodeling up in the pristine Alpine air.....
(i am the Echo, of which my lover speaks.....Ah...but NOw that i think of it ThereWas some sadness here....if i may take some reality liberty.......it was penned after i had to leave phishgod to go back to san diego for awhile, So perhaps you are Perceptive...)
cool: after re-reading, i CAN see that now, CMR....
and the myth is sad, our mountain nymph pining for Narcissus until only her voice remains.....
thanks for the close read....i know he appreciates all comments~~
ps. ps. ok not related, but phonetically, cool~~"eco" like ecology...can trace back to Greek "oikos" = Home
(that soooooo works for me)
PS PS {{{{{{{{{{BE}}}}}}}}
{{{{{{{{{{{{{cassia}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes CMR, subject to interpetation, but echoes
can reverb with tonality of their own force,
yes--happy/sad provides a certain yin/yang balance
and indeed, as C. notes, there was an overtone of sadness of
her departure, but the bliss echoes back in new found ways and poems.
Thank you, BE, for your continued support, and favorable reviews.
Darling C.,for you who know of what I speak most intimately (and who, fortunately, keeps returning, echo-like, in all respects my
One--yr so my gurl!
Sunquakes tremoring in the new dawn of morning,
wizards and goats beards all gnarly and bright,
echo my love returning to me, returning, returning--
never to leave again.
thanks all....

GO WINGS
Phishgod has gained a new respect from me.
Ah, the Steel City
Burgh of my birth
How I lament the lackadaisicalness
of once proud franchises.
The Bucs stopped here.
The Steel Curtain rusted away
The Pens ran dry
Alas. I weep.
The Red Wings are to hockey what the Yankees are to baseball what the Cowboys are to football what the Lakers are to basketball...
Big names, Big stars, Big money, Small club pilfering, Big bores.
(This may have changed a bit for some franchises... but they're all still just movie stars)
whee,
geez ya shoulda seen wings v. avalanche
or what
(i'm new to hockey but finding it enjoyable...)
the occasional octopus
i love the hardcore checks and such...
our mr. chelios with his nose always busted up....
i think in hockey, the excellence in athleticism is much more evident than other sports (on a team basis, plus i like the speed and fluidity of the game, too)
but i must admit, one of my fav games of the season, was when almost 11 of our top players were out injured...and the 'farm kids' from grand rapids came over to play...(but with wings/even minor is topknotch) and the first time a little fellow scored a goal, was great................
your poem
is
by all accounts,
remarkable.
and
accountants
are
remarkable
by all accounts...
especially ones
that
dance
There's only one!
And she's beautiful....
and oohlordy what can be done with flowerpower prints!!
and hula shades~~
Wings/Avs is always a good game, regardless my distaste for the Wings. I hate the Flyers more.
"our mr. chelios". I can forgive this for such a fledgling fan. Mr. Chelios is and always will be a Blackhawk in the hearts of hockey fans the world over.
Just as Mr. Bourque will be a Bruin and not a turncoat "give me a championship" Av.
As for your comments on hockey in general... rock on. Even for a Wings fan.
By the way... ever see the fight between Roy on the Avs and Osgood on the Wings? Nothing like a goalie fight!
i just started watching last season, and picked my guy to root for: Lucky Luc Robitaille
no more Luc, but i didn't even know he was somewhat new to detroit.....
around here it's all shannahan and of course yzerman...i like lil scrappers....sometimes draper and others
but i'm still learning~~~
(cool intersperse weaves of lovesongs and hockey WHEE)
THAT'S yinyangy eh
Luc Robitaille is an ex Penguin!
Yzerman and Draper are long time Wings, so it's ok.
I remember when I started watching hockey. 1990. My great grandmother had a Pens game one when I was visiting. I was enchanted. Decided I'd watch more. Fell in love with the sport. And it just so happened at the end of that season... the Pens won their first of 2 straight Stanley Cups. I was hooked.
They were contenders up until 2001. After than, it was all down hill. My boys have broken my heart.
but i never saw them
as far as names, i really like the buffalo sabres
i kinda root for any good play,
regardless of which team
(which sometimes gets me in a heap of trouble!)
and yeh, i dig it when the goalies get gruff...
and last week
i saw a couple players sailing into the net head first !
we're going to anaheim on a trip later this spring, and unfortunately miss the wings/ducks game by a few days...
hmmmm kinda feel like writing a hockey poem....
p has a Huge book in here in the study.....TOTAL HOCKEY but it's probably outdated........maybe i'll work on an Ode to the Penguins....
epitaph?
I prefer Ode. They'll be back.
Even if it's without Lemieux.
and Jagr.
and Straka.
and Kovalev.
and Lang.
and Francis.
and Barasso.
and Coffey.
and Samuellson.
and Stevens.
and Robitaille.
and Recchi.
and Mullen.
and Tocchet.
and...
I was born in Pitt (and so were my Daddy)
and I still get back for a visit with my
Aunt in the North Hills every now & again,
and even took Cass there for my Uncle's funeral
a while back, and then up to Oil City
for the burial & over to see the old
fam digs in Greenville, then on up to Erie,
wow! So Total Hockey! I remember actually
seeing first Pens games with a cousin
who now is big time high school
hockey coach in Pitt someplace, took
his boys to state championship rounds in
Phillie in his first season, but of
course I wear the Red Wheeled Wing,
and nothing like a Wings/Avs game to
get a little blood on the ice, oh yeah== I remember the Roy Osgood fracus and the Claude Lemieux hit that
broke up Draper & started the whole blood feud thing,
but I think I actually saw my first pro baseball game
in Three Rivers, and I remember singing
"We Are Family" years later along with Willie Stargell
pretty well too, and shit, Pitt, the zoo,
Kennywood, the incline, damn what a bowl
full of memories that all brings up,
but I pretty much stick to hockey now,
although I occasionally will get into
a March madness or Bowl blitz stupor,
I confess, but the joys of
my life are poems, & Cass & rock n roll.
So yeah, Total Hockey (2000 Edition)
sits up there whenever I get the urge to
do hockey trivia, when I am not occupied
with the better things in my life, like C.
Thanks for the read, and your comments all.
phishgod
You've brought a tear to my eye. Oh, how I miss my city.
North Hills... right down the road from where I grew up in Cranberry Township.
Though I am far too young to remember the "we are family" days of the Buccos.
But I did get to watch Three Rivers come down from the far bank of the Ohio. Sad, sad day. Knew that old clunker all my life. I think BE posted my poem about it on the "Favorite Poem" thread.
Philly sucks sack. I miss Pittsburgh (except for the "no jobs" part)
& I spent a bit of time wandering all around the Point
and such myself, also had cousins and such in the South Hills,
assort'd other relatives spread about at different times & spots...
and I have wandered around down in the neighborhood of Front & Broad in Philly, too, but some great days in Pitt ( & a scary night or two in Philly) myself (had a bro-in-law went to Brown),
so I sorta know my way around the Commmonwealth.
Yeah. So Michigan is home, but PA is the homeland.
& for my beloved Cassia--
my love IS an echo,
she's so my LBQ gurl
--we gonna go do Pitt again sometime,
maybe meet the editor who introduced us there for supper or something if it works out on the next trip over that way.
Good memories CRM & Thanks for the read.
