Balcony Poem II.

Pale dusk—
night’s purple
musk curtain
blankets horizon,
partly cloudy,
stars beckon
winter chill.

Out on
the marsh,
geese barking
in shadows,
silver leaves
luminesce beneath
moon, filling.

Cat tails
statuesque
against the
fall chill
air, rustling
wind whispering,
“M-m-moon M-m-maiden.”

Inside, you
are dreaming,
warm-safe
beneath the
goose down,
as we
begin a
new season.

Pale dusk—
night’s purple
musk curtain
blankets shadows,
winter beckons
dreaming stars,
another season.
