Mindless chatters of empty minds wash down upon me
My mind wanders into nothingness and is lost
Like a child screaming behind locked doors
Begging for answers
Searching for the key
How I want to cast off this shell
That binds me to this place
or become the shell itself
and empty all that’s inside it
For once the world seemed so large
And taking comfort in its hands
I would crawl with open heart
and embrace its every night
Only to wake one day
inside a different point of view
and in my clenched fist
see the world I thought I knew
The one that held me to its breast
while I slept into the night
could no longer contain me
and was changed almost overnight
In my palm the world has turned
different but yet the same
now looking from the outside
I see
I see
Only with our eyes closed can we truly see

  • nailz, this is great! I like the image of the screaming child and casting off the shell and possibly becoming the shell...very nice! Especially this part:
"For once the world seemed so large
And taking comfort in its hands
I would crawl with open heart
    and embrace its every night
    Only to wake one day
inside a different point of view"

Good to see you posting a poem, my friend! :)
