NYC - stone gossard brooklyn gig meet-up!

i was just telling my husband i picked up tickets and that perhaps since it's a saturday - yay! - perhaps we'd spend the day bopping around brooklyn, shops, parks, whatever...then go for dinner and then the show. anyone want to meet for dinner and/or drinks? any suggestions? anyone know anything about the warsaw theatre, the area, the near-by shops, restaurants, bars...anything? :D


please post...share suggestions...interest....whateva........

    My buddy and I are going to be staying at his little brother's place in Brooklyn for the night. Nice when us "old guys" (we're both 34) can get away from the wives and NJ for the weekend. ;) I'll be looking into some of the places the locals seem to like, and will post anything interesting that I come across. I've been there a few times, but visits on St. Patty's day tend to be a bit blurry. :) Hope to meet some of ya' up there.

    i'd wanna meet up but im going to be planting trees :) i think that ends at 3 yes? so what about those of us who are going to be planting trees? oh yeah i'm with allstar340 in the underage category. i LOVE being under 21! :mad:

    Oh man I might be planting trees too! I signed up but I'm on the fence about it. Can't seem to find any of my friends who want to come along though :( So it's probably gonna be boring by myself so I was thinking of just buying the tickets.

    Me neither. But ill be 20 this december so I dont have too long of a wait.

    Im still not sure if Ill be going to the Stone show though. I hope so.

    D'oh didn't see this and started a new thread in Given to Fly...not sure if I can make a meetup that night but can't wait for the show! Keep me in the loop just in case please.

    Hi, I probably have to work part of the day but would like to meet up at some point so count me in!
    Don't know much about Greenpoint but Williamsburg's got a lot to do on a Saturday. There are many many restaurants on Bedfort St., they always have kind of street flea markets on weekends and there is a really cool beer garden on N 3rd. ;) Plus McCarren Park between Greenpoint and Williamsburg is a good place to chill.

    that's the whole point of this thread....that i actually had forgotten about...:o
    sorry for dropping the ball, but work has been absolute hell.
    anyhoo....i may or may not even make it at this point. work has been hell, as mentioned, and i've been sick as a dog......so don't know if i will have the energy for it. also as i am mainly going to see stone, and from the boston thread in GTF he plays about all of 6 tunes....i may just look at it all as a pure donation to a good cause. however, i still would be most interested in the when and where b/c mr. dream may still make it. we shall see. :)

    thanks, i hope i do too! i still have about 2 more weeks of hell to contend with at work. :p


    well then, you have my cell # yes? give me a call and let me know where you land, and/or what time you'll be about. hubby and i were considering heading to brooklyn earlier in the day, bopping around some shops, getting dinner and possibly drinks later if anyone was around...and then of course the show. :)


    if you, or ANYone....has suggestions of restaurants and/or bars/pubs to hit up...would be great!


    btw - you planning to drive or take public transport? i'm on the fence as to which would be easier. we already have monthly train passes, so was thinking of taking the LIRR in and then the subway.....not that i even know where we need to be....:o haha. anyhoo, just curious.


    yesterday and today have been deceptively slow at work....so far. i am expecting to get bombarded with work later today, possibly...although i hope not...and thus working OT today....but if not, most definitely tomorrow. if i have to work crazy hours tomorrow, plus still feel unwell....doesn't bode well for me and stone saturday. however, if it's not too bad work-wise and/or i feel much better by saturday, hopefully it'll all happen!


    cmon folks....share some of your fave brooklyn haunts!


    also, anyone have an address and/or driving and train directions? i quickly looked at the warsaw site the other day and didn't see much.

    I still have to work for some hours on Sat, but here is some info for those who are not that familiar with the area:

    Warsaw
    261 Driggs Ave
    Greenpoint/Williamsburg
    Brooklyn, NY 11222
    718 387-0505
    - Gig starts at 6pm

    By train from Manhattan:
    L train to Bedford Ave (one subway stop from Manhattan)
    Walk about 12 blocks

    By train from Brooklyn or Queens:
    G train to Nassau
    Walk 3 blocks

    Bunch of restaurants/bars in Williamsburg, specially on Bedford Ave. Here are some http://williamsburger.com/wb/bedford-ave-williamsburg
    Fornino = great pizza
    Veracruz = great mexican

    Beer lovers be sure to check out the Biergarten ( http://radegasthall.com/ ) on North 3rd and Berry, it also has a pretty good grill.

    i truly hope to make the show, but as i only got home from work about 20 minutes ago.....3rd time this week and even more the past month, still feeling like utter shit...probably working late tomorrow too although truly hoping not :p.....it's not looking too promising for me. :o however, saturday shall be a brand new day, so here's to hoping! :) if i didn't have a week from HELL awaiting me work-wise next week, which is guaranteed....i'd not be as concerned. eh well, what's meant to be, will be! so hope to seeya all!
