Yeah i know its an old song. But i just wanted to know if anyone has the version of the song where they say the meaning of what the song Better Man is talking about. Or if anyone knows the meaning of what Better Man is about?

I thought it was Vedder-man. But that was too egotistical for Ed. So he changed the line.

    "my names Eddie Vedder, man"

It just didn't have the oomph. I still sing this version when I hear the song though.
You've changed your place in this world!
  • in the immotal words of vedder, " for the bastard, that married my mother."

makes sense... though i always thought he was a margarine man.
There have been shows where maybe the whole first half of the show my eyes have been closed. and then you'll look out in the crowd and there'll be somebody totally lost in their head, in exactly the same place you're in. That, to me, is the essence of music
