Meteorology

I ride to the end of the last ocean
It does not satisfy me
So I rise up through a dark sky
and pierce the sagging cumulous clouds
Still higher I gain speed passing through a
stratus cluster
Until I reach my destination and knock
on a black door of space
And ask the stars to grab their bikes
instead I enter for dinner, it is too
late for them to come outside
I am a corkscrew at dinner, writhing
to open a fine merlot
I spill it
and red life runs across whitenoise tablecloths
staining the chaos
I sit at the chair of my shame
my legs hang derelict above the floor
my expanding iris inhales
the faded magenta that still spirals
through the tablecloth, and the cheap bulsa wood
dripping to a nebular mosaic
bypassing the moss carpets straight to the cellar
of that dysfunctional house
filled with dusty probability
from which the comets still yield calculations
and the brown earth trembles
like winter children before the weather forecast

    :D
    It's all yellow.

  • I wanted to be a meteorologist when I was in high school.

I ended up being a computer scientist.

Or a Commercial Applications Software Engineer if you ask my employers.

I still want to be a meteorologist.

  • Heeeeeeeeey, isn't this the one you wrote a while ago (it was called, "Something I wrote in the shower," I believe)?

Lotsa unusual images, and usually I'm unusual, so that's meant as a compliment.
  • Heh, I might have now that I think about it...well at any rate this is the revised version - it's too bad the form didn't paste over, it looks a lot more impressive the way I had it laid out on the page
  • "ask the stars to grab their bikes"...that's one motherfucker of a great line.
    I wish I was a Democrat
One that had a chance to win
    I wish I was a Republican
But would I be a human being?
