How Far Will Tv Go?

Wrote most of this one in the shower this morning

Ratings Wars

One hundred sets of eyes follow a pregnant woman as she
sits down at her table to eat, rubbing her belly.

She was paid one million dollars to have sex with the Devil,
live on Fox.

An unprecedented stunt to compete with the final episode
of Friends,
but the ratings were not stellar, Joey was having sex with
Rachael.

The Devil’s penis was not large, which many thought explains
why he is so God damned angry all the time.

Since that day the Devil’s e-mail has been flooded with spam,
advertising length and girth for a fraction of the cost.

Soon the hype fades, she sits in the back of a Lamaze class.
She wonders what color the baby will be.

The Devil shares an apartment in Florida now,
with his cousin Death.

They split the rent, but the Devil never does the dishes.

He checks in on his baby every once and a while,
but is shrewd about public appearances.

His agent tells him to keep a low profile until the baby is born.

The mother of Satan's child often sits alone in her apartment,
she spoons ice-cream into her mouth and turndles to the bathroom.

When her water breaks, she calls a cab.

The Devil waits for Jerry Springer to unite him with his son.

There are complications at the hospital, Mary dies first.

Great efforts are made to save the baby.

But the baby bursts into flames rather than into the world.

Mary had spent 30,000 dollars, the rest she put into mutual funds.

She kept saying, her baby neds to go to college.

For those of you who refrain from criticism I'm letting you know my ego will not be bruised, good criticism is always better than silence, and this piece is far from polished so I'm just wondering what you guys thought worked/didn't work, liked/didn't like

how interesting, this apparent focus on god in poetry this evening...

i've been looking for info on an angel, and came across this site...
    http://www.myriadmush.net/

there's a buncha short stories, but that's beside the point...

this poem made me laugh too.... "so God damned angry all the time" was the line that made it audible... :)

oh, and i suppose if you're asking for criticism, which, i don't normally dish out... this feels more like telling than showing, too...

i mean it works :) the focus is interesting, the story line has humor...

i dunno... there's all kinds of poetry, yeah? :)
