This isn't a finished piece but I'm gonna try to jot something down every night and hand it off to you guys to help me see what's working and what's not - good evening all
God’s Ghost writer
I don’t speak the thoughts that
string into stories in my mind
It might look like I’m staring for
10 to fifteen minutes at a time, completely
unresponsive to any outside stimuli
whether it’s class, or my parents, or even
my girlfriend trying to communicate some
Earthly message to me
But my own stories are flushing from some
divine fountain of words that topple like
liquid marbles from indoor
clouds and flatten into poetry mosaics when
they hit the floor
I am God’s ghost writer, I contain all that
he would say to humanity if we could but
survive the end of faith
If we could somehow come to grips with our
uncertainty

but i don't agree (right, who the hell am i) that what's divine is the words themselves...
i see you musing at your gush here
take out the words "words", "poetry", and "writer"...
it's my feeling that the piece becomes inaccessible to non-writers... they can't relate, you know? taking them out would allow a reader to attribute his or her own gushes... be they diesel mechanic-ing, or mothering, or whatever...
while clarity is good in very vague pieces,
some vagueness is good in very clear pieces
beautiful imagery, and the things in the end, about surviving faith and becoming certain in our uncertainty... they're very nice twists of thought
I have One Somehere called "God's Bathroom",
maybe I'll check the other 'puters hard drive tomorrow,
but this was fun and well, well done.
